HydroCrew ("we", "our", or "us") operates the HydroCrew mobile application and website (the "Service"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information we collect

When you create an account or use the Service, we collect:

Account information – your name, email address, and a hashed password.
Usage data – water intake logs (amount and timestamp), daily hydration goals, and group membership.
Invite data – if you invite someone, we store their email address until the invite is accepted or expires (7 days).

We do not collect location data, health records, payment information, or any data from your device beyond what is described above.

How we use your information

To provide and operate the Service (logging water, displaying leaderboards, sending invites).
To authenticate your account securely.
To send transactional emails (invite notifications). We do not send marketing emails.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:

Within your crew – your display name and daily water progress are visible to other members of your group.
Service providers – we use SMTP2GO solely to deliver invitation emails on our behalf. They are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
Legal requirements – if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Water logs are retained indefinitely to support historical tracking features. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us.

Security

Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device using the platform's secure storage APIs.

Children's privacy

HydroCrew is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data.
